Kaboom! (Purple Label) for the Atari 2600 is a fast-paced, arcade-style action game developed by Activision in 1981. In the role of a Mad Bomber, the player must catch bombs dropped by a criminal at the top of the screen using a set of three horizontal buckets, which are moved left and right along the bottom of the screen. The game is controlled with the Atari paddle and increases in speed with each level. Missed bombs result in an explosion and the loss of a bucket. The genre combines elements of action and reflex-based gameplay to create an addictive score-chasing experience.
